Whoopi Goldberg in my kitchen.

I saw this recipe during a baking show on TV once and I wanted to try it out ever since. Surfing around the internet I even found a funny little story about the origin of its name:

“According to Amish legend, when children would find these treats in their lunch bags, they would shout “Whoopie!” What’s cooking america

That’s it about history for now, let’s start baking!

Ring of nougat.

Whenever I have a lot of things that I should be doing, which are boring, exhausting or just plain not fun, I do something unnecessary instead. Like making a to-do-list of the things that I should be doing. Or baking. Well I did the to-do-list at work already, so what was left? Yep, baking :)

Today I wanted to make my all time favorites: nougat rings (Nougatringe) which you can buy in every bakery in Germany, I guess. All you need to do is to bake some round cookies, mix a butter-nougat-creme, top it with some hazelnuts and cover everything with chocolate. Et voila: 10000000000 kcal on a cookie. Yummie!!

9th door.

Christmas bakery.

Happy 2nd advent everyone! I remember that last year I totally missed to bake some cookies for christmas, but this year is going to be different. My friend Yvonne came over and we decided to make some Hallongrottor (raspberry cave). I’m not sure if they are super christmassy but they are just sooo delicious ;)
