Rats with fluffy tails.

That’s what you call squirrels in some countries. At least in Germany. Because the German word for squirrel is just as ridiculous as the english one: Eichhörnchen. Everyone go ahead and try to pronounce that! :D

Honey, I shrunk Europe.

When I was in Germany  this last Christmas my father wanted to take us all to the miniature wonderland in Hamburg. After standing in line for nearly an hour (!!) we and about one billion other people pushed ourselves through the worlds of miniature trains and plastic mountains. I felt like I was in one of Sheldon Coopers dreams! :D

The exhibition started with miniature Switzerland. A lot of mountains and tunnels!

And continued with Germany. Where, of course, monks were hiding behind trees, staring at a young girls behind.. What else is happening in Germany?? Haha

And one of the last things were Scandinavia: Norway:

Ring of nougat.

Whenever I have a lot of things that I should be doing, which are boring, exhausting or just plain not fun, I do something unnecessary instead. Like making a to-do-list of the things that I should be doing. Or baking. Well I did the to-do-list at work already, so what was left? Yep, baking :)

Today I wanted to make my all time favorites: nougat rings (Nougatringe) which you can buy in every bakery in Germany, I guess. All you need to do is to bake some round cookies, mix a butter-nougat-creme, top it with some hazelnuts and cover everything with chocolate. Et voila: 10000000000 kcal on a cookie. Yummie!!
